To all my blogging friends, a wonderful woman by the name of Missy is giving away a beautiful Vera Bradley purse. Your name goes into a drawing by posting to that particular blog, by following her blogs and by posting on your own blog about the give away. Check out her blog by going to: http://www.missymadeit.blogspot.com/. She also does some really cut scrapbooking cutouts that I am really thinking about getting for myself. She also has an ebay store where she sells her beautiful scrapbook items.

A little about me

I wanted to do a post to let you all know who I am. My name is Wendy and I was born in Ohio. I have 2 sisters. One older and one younger. I also have 2 step brothers and 4 step sisters. When I was 5 yrs old my parents got a divorce. When I was 10 yrs old my mom got remarried and the day they got married we moved to Wichita Falls, TX. We lived there for 2 yrs and then moved to San Angelo, TX for a year. In 1988 we moved to Herndon, VA (Northern VA). I lived there until 2001.

I got married in 1995 and had my son Cody in 1996. I seperated from my husband in October of 2000. I met my current husband on line in Dec of 2000. I wasn't looking for anyone being that I just seperated from my husband but there was something about Michael that I fell in love with. We talked on the phone from December 14th until I drove down to Virginia Beach to meet him New Years weekend. After meeting him, I made the toughest choice a mother could ever do. I decided to not turn my sons life upside down and left him with his dad and May of 2001 I moved to Virginia Beach. My son is happy and I see him as often as I can. It hurts to not see him every single day. And now that he is almost 13 yrs old, we have a wonderful relationship. His father and I have a great relationship also. We can talk and we are friends. And that is the most important thing for Cody. We are not out to hurt each other.

May of 2002, Michael and I got married at Norfolk Botannical Gardens (butterfly garden). We bought a house in July of 2002. Lil Michael was born in May of 2003. We got custody of my husbands daughter December 2005 (thank god). I was diagnosed with PMDD in 2006. We sold our house and moved to Woodland in March of 2007 and that is where we are now.

My sisters and mom live in Northern Va and my dad lives in IL. It is hard being this far away from them especially my son. There are days where I wish I lived back up there. We are slowly meeting people around here, but it is sometimes hard to live out here and to be a stay at home mom. In an area where you don't know where anything is and you don't know anyone. It gets lonely. It has been nice since I started homeschooling my son, Michael. We have met some really wonderful moms and their children.

My husband owns his own painting business and he drives to Virginia Beach every day. He hasn't gotten any work down here to keep him here. So if any of you know of anyone needing any type of painting or home repair done please let us know. I am trying to find something to do at home to help with the finances. I sell things on ebay but it is getting hard to find the time to do that and homeschool my son and take my step daughter to Northeast Academy and then pick her up and handle the everyday things here at the house.

Ok, I think that is it for now.

A beautiful day

WOW!!! What a beautiful day. We decided that it was too nice of a day to stay at the house so we went for a drive and ended up in Gatesville and then went to Merchants Millpond State Park. All lil Michael talked about was going home and getting the boat to go fishing. Daddy tried to tell him that it was too windy to go fishing. We stopped by a boat ramp in Gatesville and of course there were a few boats in the water and that made him want to get the boat even more. Not this time though. While daddy and lil Michael were looking at the water and the boats, I was taking pictures which is what I love to do. Here are a few of them that I took.

The last two were taken at Merchant Millpond. This is what we love doing on weekends when Michael isn't working. I hope that everyone else got out and enjoyed the day.

1st time ever

Ok guys. Not really sure what I am doing. I have never done this before and hopefully I can continue doing this. It is two days after Christmas and I am glad it is over with. 4 more days and this year will be over with. This has been a rough year financially and normally Christmas is my holiday and I look forward to it and hate when it is over with but this year, I finished decorating Christmas eve instead of the day after Thanksgiving and was depressed Christmas morning and glad it was over with. Hopefully next year will be a whole lot better. Or I will be praying that it will be. I will post a picture of our tree when I get them loaded onto the computer. I just finished reading all of Donielle's post and I feel that I know them so much better now. I hope I do as good a job on my posts as she has.
